Grady and I were in Vietnam at the same time. Hw was stationed with the Third Marine Division at Danag and I was assigned to Hq, Military Assistance Comand in Saigon. My job allowed me to travel in country and I was able to spend two days with him at Danag. We had dinner at a floating restaurant on the Perfume River. This was after the Christmas Tet attack on the major cities. On our return to base by Jeep we took fire and I was relieved to get back to the Marine Camp. In my job I was able to wangle an R&R slot for him to visit Hawaii where he was stationed prior to being assigned to Vetnam.
